Naturopath Daisy Hill
Why you should work with me
The stomach is the epicentre of health. It nourishes your body. It is where neurotransmitters are synthesised and accounts for more than 70% of your immune system. Not only does poor gut health result in gastrointestinal issues, but also in mental health problems such as anxiety and depression.
As a degree-holding Naturopath and Nutritionist, I am committed to reestablishing optimal health through evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle changes, as well as the use of nutritional supplements and herbal medication as appropriate.
I believe in identifying and treating the underlying cause of chronic illness, as well as treating the full person, rather than just the symptoms, in order to reclaim energy and health.

Consultations
Initial consultations are an hour long. During this period, I will ask you numerous questions on various physiological systems, including the digestive system, the neurological system, and the immune system. I do this in order to acquire a better understanding of how you feel about your illness. Following that, I conduct a brief medical history of your family to determine whether there is a family history of your current health condition. Finally, we examine your nutrition and level of physical exercise.
Consultations in person are offered in my clinic, which is located just a short distance from Daisy Hill at 373 Chatswood Rd Shailer Park. Alternatively, video conferencing via Zoom is available, or we can simply speak over the phone.
Services offered
Food sensitivity testing
Food sensitivities can manifest itself in a variety of ways. Due to the length of time between consumption and physical reaction, foods that trigger these delayed reactions are frequently difficult to diagnose. The IgG food allergy test is an effective technique for determining which foods trigger this reaction. The results are patient-specific and serve as a simple, precise, and effective baseline for dietary adjustment.
This test looks for 96 commonly consumed items. Several of these foods are included in the list below.
- Five dairy products are available, including cow’s milk, cheddar cheese, and goat’s milk.
- Twenty-five distinct grains are included, including wheat, gluten, gliadin, and oats.
- There are eighteen distinct veggies, including garlic and onion.
- 11 distinct species of fish and crustaceans, including prawns, crab, tuna, and cod
- There are eight distinct egg and meat varieties, including chicken eggs (yolk, white, and whole), beef, chicken, and pork.
- There are seventeen distinct fruits, including apples, apricots, pineapples, and strawberries.
- 12 atypical foods, including chocolate, coffee, honey, and cane sugar
This is a do-it-yourself test that requires a finger prick blood spot to be collected on a card. After returning the test card to the lab, the results are typically ready in 12-14 days.
Microbiome testing
The Complete Microbiome Mapping Test is designed to assess a patient’s microbiome from a single stool sample, with particular attention to microbes that cause disease or that disrupt normal microbial balance.
The panel is a comprehensive collection of microbial targets as well as immune and digestive markers. It screens for pathogenic bacteria, commensal bacteria, opportunistic pathogens, fungi, viruses, and parasites.
This test is particularly useful for anyone suffering from the following symptoms.
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease
- Abdominal cramps or pain
- Leaky gut
- Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO)
- Allergies
- Bloating
- Diarrhoea
- Constipation
- Fatigue
- weakness
This is an at home stool test and once the sample is received at the lab, the results will be available after 12-14 days.

Mood appraisal
The majority of us will experience anxiety or depression at some point in our lives. For the majority of us, it will pass, but for others, it will plague us for decades. Nutritional deficits have been linked to a wide variety of mental health issues in studies. This could be related to diet, but it could also be due to nutrient malabsorption caused by a malfunctioning gut. These nutritional deficits can result in impaired neurotransmitter production, including serotonin, dopamine, and GABA, to mention a few.
The Mood Appraisal questionnaire was developed to ascertain which neurotransmitter pathways require assistance. A 66-question mood rating questionnaire is emailed to you and takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Each enquiry is associated with one or more neurotransmitters and offers information on their status.
It assesses a variety of neurotransmitters, including serotonin, melatonin, dopamine, phenylethylamine, gaba, and adrenaline. When completed, the questionnaire assists the customer in determining which neurotransmitter precursors and co-factors are most appropriate for their needs. These can contain amino acids, as well as certain vitamins and herbs that support the HPA axis and boost metabolic pathways.
MTHFR testing
Up to 40% of the population has an MTHFR polymorphism. This can have a detrimental effect on the methylation cycle, which is the master regulator of gene expression. A gene mutation can be inherited from either parent or both parents. A single “heterozygous” mutation can result in a 40% reduction in methylation function, but a double “homozygous” mutation can result in a 70% reduction in function.
The following are some of the more prevalent symptoms of an MTHFR mutation.
A history of heart attacks, strokes, or blood clots in the family
Women with a family history of repeated miscarriages
Anxiety or despair runs in the family
MTHFR polymorphisms are identified using a saliva sample or a swab of the inside of the cheek. We offer a Wellbeing Bundle that details the important MTHFR polymorphisms and their effect on many bodily systems, including the following:
- Methylation
- Production and action of neurotransmitters
- Metabolism of hormones
- Status of the detoxification route
- Status of antioxidants
- Metabolism, transport, and absorption of nutrients
- Metabolic energy
- Risk of cardiovascular disease
- Expression of DNA
