Why you should work with me
Good health starts in the gut. It gives your body what it needs. It’s where your neurotransmitters are made and it makes up more than 70% of your immune system, so it’s very important. In addition to gastrointestinal problems, poor digestive health can cause anxiety and depression in people, as well.
My goal is to help people achieve optimal health through evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle changes, as well as nutritional supplements and herbal medicine, when needed. I am a degree-qualified Naturopath and Nutritionist who is very interested in this.
To me, the best way to get well again is to find and treat the root cause of the problem, not just treat the symptoms. I also believe that treating the whole person, not just the symptoms, will help you get well again.
In the beginning, we meet for an hour. This is when I ask you a lot of questions about each body system. For example, I want to know about how your digestive system works, your nervous system, and your immune system. I do this so that I can get a better sense of how you feel about your condition. My next step is to check to see whether there’s a connection between your current health problem and your family history. Finally, we look at what you eat and how much exercise you do.
My clinic is conveniently located a short distance from Loganholme at, the KP Centre, 373 Chatswood Rd Shailer Park. I offer face to face consultations there. We can also use Zoom, which is a video conferencing service. If you prefer, we can just talk on the phone.
Food sensitivity testing
Having food sensitivities can cause a wide range of symptoms and illnesses. People often have a hard time figuring out which foods cause these delayed reactions because there is a long time between when they eat them and when they start to feel bad. The IgG food allergy test is a good way to find out which foods are making you sick. The results are tailored to each person and give them a simple, precise, and effective place to start when they want to change their diet.
Test: This one checks for 96 foods that you’re likely to eat every day. Some of those foods are on the list below.
- Five dairy products, such as cow’s milk, cheddar cheese, and goat’s milk, are on the list, as well.
- Some of them: wheat, gluten, gliadin, and oats.
- Garlic and onions are two of the 18 vegetables.
- They had 11 different kinds of fish and crustaceans, like prawn and crab.
- 8 different types of eggs and meats, like chicken eggs (yolk, white, and whole), beef, chicken, and pork.
- You can find 17 different types of fruit in this box. There are apples, apricot, pineapple, and strawberry’s in this box.
- 12 different foods, like chocolate, coffee, honey, and cane sugar.
This is a simple test that you can do at home. You put a finger prick blood spot on a card. Results are usually available in 12-14 days after the test card is sent back to the lab by the person who took it.
Using a single stool sample, the Complete Microbiome Mapping Test looks at a person’s microbiome and pays special attention to microbes that cause disease or mess with the balance of good and bad bacteria in the body.
The panel includes a wide range of microbial targets, as well as markers for the immune system and the digestive system. You can find out if your body is infected with harmful bacteria and other bacteria that live with you. It also checks for opportunistic pathogens, fungi, viruses, and parasites.

Most of us will have some anxiety or depression at some point in our lives. When it’s over, most of us will forget about it. For some, though, it will stay with us for years. Studies have found that people who have mental health problems are often lacking in certain nutrients. When this happens, it could be because of what you eat, but it could also be caused by a bad gut that doesn’t work well. Deficiencies in certain nutrients can make it hard for the body to make neurotransmitters like serotonin or dopamine. This can make it hard for the body to get the right amount of these chemicals.
The Mood Appraisal questionnaire is a way to figure out which neurotransmitter pathways need help. A questionnaire with 66 questions about your mood is sent to you by email and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Each question is linked to one or more neurotransmitters and gives you a sense of how each neurotransmitter is going.
Neurotransmitters like Serotonin, Melatonin, Dopamine, Phenylamine, GABA, Adrenaline, and Endogenous Opioids are all checked out by this type of test. When the questionnaire is filled out, it gives the client an idea of which neurotransmitter precursors and co-factors will work best for them. Among them are amino acids, vitamins, and herbs that can help improve biochemical pathways and help the HPA axis.
As many as 40% of people have a problem with the MTHFR gene. This can have an effect on the methylation cycle, which is a regulator of gene expression. It’s possible to get a gene mutation from either one parent or both. Only a single mutation can cause the loss of methylation function by 40%. A double or “homozygous” mutation can cause the loss of methylation function by 70%.
