Naturopath Springwood
Why you should work with Naturopath Springwood
Good health begins in the gastrointestinal tract. It provides nourishment to your body. Neurotransmitters and 70% of your immune system are produced in this area. Anxiety and despair are common side effects of poor gut health, as well as other physical and mental health issues.
The restoration of optimal health via the use of scientifically supported dietary and lifestyle modifications and, where necessary, nutritional supplements and herbal medicine is something I am enthusiastic about as a degree-qualified Naturopath and Nutritionist on Springwood.
Finding and treating the fundamental cause of chronic illness and treating the full person, rather than merely concealing the symptoms, is what I believe in.

Consultations
An hour is allotted for the initial consultation. There are many questions about the digestive, neurological and immune systems that I ask you throughout this period of time. I do this so that I can better understand how you are coping with your illness. After that, I do a quick review of your family’s medical history to see whether your current health issue has a genetic component. Your nutrition and physical activities are also examined.
My clinic is conveniently located a short distance from Springwood, at the KP Centre, 373 Chatswood Rd Shailer Park, offers face-to-face consultations. If you prefer, we can talk on the phone, or you may use Zoom for video conferencing.
Services offered
Food sensitivity testing
A wide range of symptoms and diseases can be attributed to food sensitivities. Because of the lag period between ingestion and bodily reaction, it might be difficult to identify the foods that produce these delayed reactions. IgG food allergy testing is a useful method for determining which foods are producing an allergic response in the first place. Dietary manipulation can begin with these results, which are tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
For the most part, you’ll be eating 96 of the most common foods on a daily basis. The following is a list of some of those foods.
- Cow’s milk, cheddar cheese, and goat’s milk are just a few of the dairy products available.
- Wheat, gluten, gliadin, and oats are among the 25 distinct grains.
- Garlic and onion are among the 18 different types of veggies.
- Fish and crustaceans such as prawns, crab, tuna, and cod are all included in this dish.
- There are eight types of meats and egg products, including chicken eggs (yolk and white), beef and chicken, and pork and chicken.
- There are 17 varieties of fruit, including apples, apricots, pineapples, and strawberries.
- 12 foods that aren’t necessarily related, like chocolate, coffee, honey, and sugar cane
A finger prick blood spot is collected on a card for this at-home test. If you return the test card, results are typically available in 12-14 days.
Microbiome testing
Using a single stool sample, the Complete Microbiome Mapping Test analyses the microbiome of a patient to look for disease-causing or disruptive bacteria.
Immune and digestive indicators and microbial targets are all included in this panel. Viruses, fungi, and parasites are among the pathogens that can be detected with this method.
Anyone who is experiencing any of the following symptoms should take this test.
- Syndrome of the Irritant Bowel
- Constipation-Related Illness
- Cramps or pain in the abdomen
- Leaky intestines
- The Overgrowth of Small Bacteria in the Small Intestine (SIBO)
- Allergies
- Bloating

The results of this stool test will be available in 12-14 days after the sample has been sent to the lab.

Mood appraisal
Anxiety and despair are normal human emotions that most of us may encounter at some point in our lives. While for most of us, it will go away, for some, it will stay with us for years or even decades. Mental health illnesses are frequently associated with nutritional deficits, according to research. A bad digestive system may be to blame, but a poor diet could also be to blame. Neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, and GABA, among others, may not be synthesised properly due to dietary inadequacies.
You can use Mood Appraisal Questionnaire to identify which neurotransmitter pathways require help. A 66-question mood assessment survey is sent to you through email and takes around 10 minutes to complete. One or more neurotransmitters are associated with each question.
Serotonin, Melatonin, Dopamine, Phenylethylamine, GABA, Adrenaline, and Endogenous Opioids are among the neurotransmitters that are examined. When the questionnaire is finished, the customer will have a better idea of which neurotransmitter precursors and co-factors will work best for them. There are a variety of amino acids, as well as vitamins and herbs that can aid the HPA axis and boost biochemical pathways.
MTHFR testing
A variation in the MTHFR gene affects up to 40% of the general population. Methylation is an important regulator of gene expression that might be negatively affected by this. Either one parent or both parents can pass on a gene mutation to their offspring. There are two types of mutations that affect methylation: heterozygous and homozygous.
The following are some of the most prevalent symptoms of an MTHFR mutation.
- Predisposition for cardiovascular disease can be traced back in your family.
- Multiple miscarriages in women’s families
- An anxious or depressed person’s ancestors
A saliva sample, a swab of the inside of the cheek, is used to test for MTHFR polymorphisms. In our Wellbeing Bundle, we identify the most important MTHFR polymorphisms and explain how they affect numerous bodily functions, such as:
- Methylation
- Functions of neurotransmitters
- Hormonal metabolism
- The state of the detoxification route
- Status as an antioxidant
- Metabolism, transportation, and absorption of nutrients
- Consumption of energy
- The danger of cardiovascular disease
- DNA expression
